This made me sick to my stomach!

Did you see where the mother of one assailant said? --
But the mother of one of the girls said that Lindsay had provoked the other teens by threatening and insulting them on MySpace, a social networking Web site.
After the girls were arrested, Christina Garcia told the newspaper she looked at Lindsay's MySpace page and saw the message: "hahaha all in jail."
"A lot of people think, 'I can say whatever I want on here and nobody's gonna say anything,'" Garcia said. "A fight is a fight, but this was a beatdown. She did not deserve what she got, but I don't know how she's that messed up and able to get on the computer and talk about that."
Sorry, but if that was my daughter, I'd take her over to that mother's house, I'd hold the mother down, and let my daughter beat the crap out of her for 30 minutes. Then I'd tell the mother, "Now that wasn't so bad was it? I mean, it was only for 30 minutes. Is that your definition of a beatdown? OK, you can go write about on your MySpace blog. You don't look that messed up."

Well, I had a feeling there was more to the story. On the radio on the way home (another reason to support local radio), they had interviewed a mother and daughter that had been tortured by the victim in the video. Supposedly that girl was a well known bully around the school, and had even caused this girl on the radio to have to check into professional help.
She was actually good friends will the kids that beat her up, apparently she has been 'bullying' on myspace for quite some time and this just boiled to a head. When the video was shown in school, more then a few kids cheered. I guess because she was friends with them, that's why she wasn't fighting back?

I'm not trying to defend the actions taking here, they are definitely wrong, just hoping shedding some light that this incident wasn't random. There's always more.

I love the defence that she was the bully and did myspace bulling and thats why they jumped her as a gang and taped it . Because god knows hurtfull words on the web are grounds for starting a mob and beating somebody down . I guess I will be very cautious if any of you invite me over after school .

That led to the bashing which in turn led to jail which will eventually lead to court before the trip back to jail. Definitely went somewhere, IMO.

OH I agree . They need to do time . Words are words, physical violence is a whole new level . Personally I could understand it if one kid fights another but when 5 half to gang up on a "friend" then that is just chicken ---- and they need to learn a lesson. Let alone the fact of video taping it . Thats just flat out stupid .

Falls back to the parents, IMO. They could have raised nice girls rather than a bunch of little hellions. Had the parents of all these girls made better decisions raising their kids this would likely not have happened. I'm talking about parents on both sides of this attack, the verbal and the physical. Had it been boys, someone would have probably been shot.
