It's a Black Combtooth Blenny (Ecsenius namiyei). Keep an eye on those spots, but they tend to have some. That being said, I've never seen THAT many on mine and I do have ich in my tank. Wait 'til you see him poop! Blennies (and most algae eaters) are messy. One of my favorite blennies, but they can take a while to warm up to you and they LOVE lots of different hiding places around the tank. Mine plays referee when my Flame and Coral Beauty decide to test each other, it's really amusing.
They're awesome little algae eaters, so make sure you have enough on the rocks, or you'll have to supplement. Mine refuses to eat an algae sheet unless I break it up in the water column and let the smaller pieces float around. He also will not eat any meaty foods.
They're really cool under just actinics are moonlights, the stripes on their face become more pronounced.

NIce! I didn't know that you also had one of these Joe. I love how the one major online site says that these guys are rare blennies... more and more people keep popping up with them.
Do you only have him in your tank or another blenny as well? Mine gets along great with my little TailSpot (1guydude, don't mix blennies in your size tank!)

O dont worry i wont lol....he looked smaller actually in the smaller tank they had him in! Awsome when hes moving about and his fins are extended...and when the color lines pop up on his head....i miss the six-line but i think i got a great replacement!
One question though...i havent seen him eat yet. He ate some frozen but spat it out, Ive got nori and i tried to mix it with the other stuff but idk.
Now i have it hangin in my tank,how long can i leave it in their?

He's new to the tank, so let him adjust before worrying too much. The majority of his diet will come from eating film algae off the rocks and glass. I have never seen mine eat frozen. He used to take it in, but would spit it right back out. He also took a really long time to eat the algae sheets. To this day, he'll only eat them if I hold them in front of a powerhead and break them up in my hands so that little flakes of algae sheet are floating around in the current. Even then, sometimes he's just not interested. On a very rare occasion (if I haven't fed for 2-3 days/vacation/etc), he'll eat the algae sheet in my hand, but even that isn't a guarantee that he'll come up. Very cool fish to watch. Might not be as social as some of the other blennies can be (at least mine isn't), but one of the more beneficial for the tank.

k well he does pick at the rock...i havent seen him eat yet so i was a lil worried....is this just the way he eats than? The algae of my rocks...wat about the sm amounts of hair algae i have! ya no one in the tank is very intrested in the nori sheet lol its not like a whole sheet or nothing so i dont think itll pollute!

You'd be amazed if you saw how much of the algae sheets I put in daily, but I have a lot of algae eaters as well, A LOT.
Yes, this is how he eats, his scrapes algae from the rocks with his teeth. He'll very often look like he's smashing his face into the rocks, it's how he gets his "comb teeth" on the rock to scrape off the algae.

I can't use the clips that much anymore, my Naso has absolutely perfected how to get the sheet loose from it in a matter of seconds. I've tried different clips, the ones with the mess, etc, she gets them all. My fish prefer to eat it broken up, this is mainly my fault, but I like that they'll eat from my hand (makes it easier to catch a problem fish). I go through at least 2 sheets a day, plus the one I attempt to put in the clip (which is usually a half sheet folded again), sometimes I go through a total of 4 sheets for the day. I mix up the colors too, I have green, red, purple and brown and they get at least two types a day. They HATE the green. If you have Nori sheets, it probably is the Green stuff, and I've found that most of my fish don't really like it, try the red or purple. I have no luck with nori. I've given up and only use Ocean Nutrition and Julian Sprung's (Two Little Fishies) macro algae sheets now. The fish inhale them.

The red is the worst! It is terrible in the clips because it starts to fall apart as soon as it hits the water. It's great for when I'm just breaking it up in the water column though. Figures that the red is their favorite. Ocean Nutrition's purple is very fragile too, but Julian Sprung's is much thicker, so it stays together longer. Nothing is as thick as the green versions.

I have picky little eaters. My naso tang is the worst! Spits the green algae out and comes to the surface to splash me until I give her what she wants.
