hey guys sorry I havent updated in a while. I lost my CT. he will be very missed that's forsure! I do have a new problem though.
Blue Tang has been in QT for quite some time now and i moved her from 20 QT to a 55 QT about two weeks ago. Well she's eating and fat but she's laying on the bottom as if she has buoyancy problems, this has been going on for about three weeks. She's trying to get up but can't. She's 7 and half years old, color is really blue, no clowdy eyes, not breathing heavy. I have been doing water changes every three days on the QT. Just stopped treatment with an antibiotic.
Anyone every had this problem? any suggestions on what I could do?

I'm so sorry to hear about your CT, my condolences 
In my opinion, updates don't have to be only 'good' news....in fact it's more true-to-life when you include both the ups and the downs. I feel bad that you are going through so much right now. I'm sure readers of a thread can gain a couple of things: 1. This hobby can be very difficult 2. Even experienced hobbyists (such as yourself) sometimes encounter rough periods
Just hang in there, and if you need to vent......please vent like crazy!

Humu Trigger, 1 yellow, Queen angel are in the DT. (im sure they dont mind)

Blue tang is in QT for what purpose? How large is this specimen? (don't want to go back through other pages to find out, lazy bones that I am)
Typical Paracanthurus hepatus behaviour to lay a on it's side when stressed. Can it be removed from the QT yet and returned to the DT? A good sign that it is eating! Tank size, water changes, changes from 20 to 55 are all stressors that could be affecting this creature.

You know what...I think stress is causing this also!!! I was just afraid to put her back in the DT in case it was caused by something else!!! I think I'm just going to acclimate both back into the DT today! I'll let you know how it goes.

yea this is a bummer! She wiggles around when I feed and eats but thats about it. I'm just going to leave her in the big tank, no reason to further stress her out.

Hey Tiff, do you order your fish online? or at a lfs? If online, have you found one that is more reliable than others? Normally we drive almost 2 hrs away to get our fish.
I really want two hippo tangs, but am having trouble getting them from our regular fish store.
I was considering ordering online, but am a little nervous to. Any thoughts? Anybody?

Saltwaterfish.com is pretty reliable. Oh yeah and they host this forum.

Saltwaterfish.com is pretty reliable. Oh yeah and they host this forum.

Don't get from *************....I bought FW from them and the gold spot pleco died that morning and it was sickly.
