There are no stupid people only stupid questions.........um..........or do I have that backwards? Oh well.
I have a couple of answers in a word document that I can just copy and paste now.
What to do about cyano
What should my parameters be.
I am going to keep doing this so I can answer quickly and get back to the fun part, as long as that mudsucker guy doesn't get me offed by the mods first!

Ignorant, not idiot. Everyone was a newbie at one point. We talk about the nitrogen cycle often, but this board has an even more important cycle. It all starts with the arrogant experienced folk. This person decides to make fun of a newbie for asking a question that he considers stupid. The newbie evolves and undergoes a metamorphasis we call learning. The newbie slowly develops into the arrogant experienced folk. This person then seeks out a newbie and makes fun of him, thus completing the cycle.
This cycle is not a good one. To end it we must be nice to the newbies despite what experienced folks have done to us.
Now then, lets all be good little zombie robots.

This forum is here to help new and not so new hobbiest when they are having problems or questions.I see nothing wrong with not using the search button and just asking when someone need help.
Otherwise we might as well just shut down the forum and keep the achieved answers up for research.

It's kinda amusing to see people say for there thread titles:
"stupid/dumb question about"
"same old questions,sorry"
and some others I have seen but can't think of.
some of us don't put 'dumb question' in the title, we just ask a dumb questions...let's see, like how much water flow, uh, can't we multiply?
Sound familiar

Personally, I like to see people asking questions, even if "I" know that the answer is in the archives. Even when I have one of these questions, I'll sometimes look it up, but I like to hear from people "today", not from someone 4 yrs ago that hasn't been active on the site for the past 3 (as the case with many of the old posts). Yes, in most cases the results are the same, but I like talking to people who have recently experienced the problem, or want to hear from someone who is still breathing. As far as it being a waste of thread space, if I the thread topic doesn't interest me, I scan right over it, knowing that someone will respond. Just my opinion.

This is what I thought this forum was about, sort of a community of people with the same hobby. Here to help when they want, and skim over when they don't. Just isn't nice to make someone fell dumb at something they are putting everything into.

I'm pretty sure most of us are just kidding around, none of us mind helping out in any thread, that's why we joined this forum, to get answers and to help others. Don't take it so personally. "but hardly get the consideration of an answer", I haven't seen a thread go without being answered, might take a day or two but the people looking might not know so they don't respond. no question/post is stupid.

Okay on a serious note, I love to be here. Help where I can, learn where I can and just interact with fellow reef junkies. There is some great stuff that goes on regarding the hobby and it's always nice to see what others are doing with their tanks. For those of you that have said it you are right, we are here to help each other where we can no matter what the question or who asks it.

You are correct, that is what this forum is all about. To my knowledge, I have never tried to make anyone feel dumb (outside of the 'Aquarium' of course). It's not only "not nice" as you say, but very childish. Every thread is different though, and is unique, but in general, all question threads should be allowable and respected.

Sorry, if you thought I was talking about you. I was not. Just liked what you had to say.

As much as it goes against everything I believe in...I must believe with SPANKO
I have learned A LOT from reading posts, and asking questions...whether or not they had been asked, or answered before
Sometimes I have not gotten an answer...well that was before I was famous

NO REALLY...sometimes no matter what the ??? for some reason it goes unanswered...ask again, or bump it to the top
