What are your options? Stick some motion-sensor security lights around the perimeter of your yard. If a bright light hits most wildlife, especially a boar, they'll usually run off. You could also set traps to try and capture them.
This hints at another option... use a wildlife camera. They have them anywhere that has a hunting department. It's a motion sensor with an infra-red camera tied to it, all in a weatherproof case. Strap one to a tree where you saw the droppings, give it a few days, then take the camera in and download the images. That's probably the best way to find what you have.
I know Wal-Mart sells basic ones for about $99 or so.
