Upgrade from 72 bow to a 125 reef

Just looked at your thread, your tanks beautiful...I love the fish choice. Have you ever had problems with the Royal Gramma? I have a 28g and plan for that to be my last fish in a few months. Also where in Hawaii did ya visit?

never any problems with the royal gramma. just pick out a god one with no signs of anything and a good appetite. I visited the island of Kauaii in Hawaii. My favorite picture is of the Ne pali coasline on the northwestern side.

So I was waken up at 7:30 this morning by my mom to hear that there was water all over the floor...... pretty much the nightmare that I've always feared. I came down stairs stepping in the cold water that flooded our entry way tile and opened the doors on the stand and the canopy. After a bit of investigation i concluded that the tank itself had not flooded or cracked (thank god!) but that the spillage had com from the sump. I cleaned up the water and found plenty of water inside the stand. i couldnt find any leaks anywhere. It doesnt appear that any of the acrylic tanks that compose the refugium and the sump were cracked or leaking BUT i did notice a hefty a mount of water on the refugium side. and The floor is very very level. After measuring the salinity which had dropped from 1.025 to 1.021 from the ATO adding freshwater to make up.... I though about it and figured that One of the Choclate chip sea stars in the refugium crawled over the drains on the refugium... causing it to flood until the star moved away. I dried up the mess and investigated to see if any water was leakind anywhere and nothing was found. I added some salt to the tank and looked at the fish and inverts and it seems that little harm has been done for now.
you might ask why I have choclate chip stars in the system. They were a small concession. My mother would only get the tank if I somehow allowed her to get 2 small choclate chip stars. So for the past year and a half they have lived in there no problem. Today im picking up strainers to keep them from stiking on.
