I have a tunze ATO and love it the jbj is much more affordable keep me up to date on how it does. Id like to get another ATO unit just dont want to spend 200 again. I saw a thread on a DIY ATO here I might try it.

So here is my very messy garage with the ATO/RODI/ and chiller plumbed in

Bin with RODI water and Pump connected to ATO

RO unite before the units were changed out

RO unit with fresh filter components from The Filter Guys
Now only one of my overflows drains into my filtersock in my sump

THis is where water from the ATO goes into the tank

This is where the chiller line and the ATO line come out from the wall into the tank stand. (traveling about 30 feet in crawl space from the garage. )
Refugium just harvested half the cheato. The ATO is in the top left. Notice the handle fo Vodka? haha Also the Left overflow now drains straight into the refugium. not sure if this a great Idea but I like it!

My fish just love to follow people moving around the tank. Here they are all crowded at one end.
They think I;m going to feed them. hah and they have already just been fed!

my god, I haven't seen a tank as gorgeous as that in a long time. I have seen many, many, many tanks over my time.
Congrats man, and... wow.

that looks big for a 125, maybe those fish are small or something. all beautiful specimens though.

lol thanks.
I ordered from The Filter Guys> they have the sketch of the two owners on their home page. Cheap reliable and EXTREMELY fast service. I ordered my stuff and it was here in 2 days! Their stuff fit right into my coralife RO unit. You can email them with questions with a 24 response time

lol its a 125 regular that is very very overstocked currently. A friend had a tank crash so some of his fish are spending more than just a few nights here! But my vlamingi tang is now living in a thousand gallon tank at an aquarium so I feel good about him! The ethanol in the vodka acts as an organic carbon source for the growth of bacteria. Spurred by this abundance of Carbon, the bacterial grow and use up nitrates and phosphates as well. THis in turn is great for a reef tank with lots of fish and lots of nutrient. Nitrates and phosphates also inhibit coral growth at higher levels. The bacteria are then just skimmed out of the water. Im on day 4. for my 100 net gallons of water I only need to dose about .8ml a day.

Just thought Id pose some photos of how I have my eggcrate set up. Essentially I just have them covering the overflows and the back of the canopy.I used to have them on the top of the tank but small fish would manage to get through and not be able to get back in. With this method the fish are essentially deflected back into the tank.
