Upside down cake

NEED ANSWER QUICK
I just made an upside down cake in a bundt pan for my husband.....HOW long after it is oout of the oven do I wait until I turn it out of hte pan????
It doesn't say in the directions, and it has been so long I forget

It's banana upside down cake
I get recipes e-mailed every day from allrecipes.com have not tried many yet...but this I had to...lol

Hhhmmm. I glanced at that website the other day but didn't notice the email. I will have to check it out. A friend from work told me she has gotten some great recipes there. Banana upside down cake sounds interesting.

That's what I thought....my husband likes bananas....so I figured I'd try it.....was easy enough to make
could not find a banana cake mix though so I just used a yellow one...he'll never know....LOL

Here is the recipe...only I used a bundt pan instead of cake pans

Ingredients

  4 tablespoons butter, melted
• 
  1/2 cup brown sugar
• 
  1/2 cup chopped pecans
• 
  4 bananas, sliced
  1 (18.25 ounce) package banana cake mix

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (8 inch) pans. Combine butter and brown sugar, divide and spread evenly between the 2 pans. Sprinkle pecans evenly over both brown sugar mixtures, arrange banana slices evenly over each.
Prepare cake mix according to package instructions. Divide batter into the 2 pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Turn cakes upside down on a platter or plate, gently tap bottom and carefully remove pans, replacing caramel mixture that sticks to pan.

Sounds good. We will have to give it a try someday soon. I have never seen banana cake mix before. I am sure the yellow is fine.
I liked the idea of a recipe thread that someone started awhile back (maybe TeresaQ?). I was just really busy around that time and lost track of it. One of these days I will have to try to look it up.

YUMMMMM a new drink....also from allrecipes.com
1 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup lemonade
3 jiggers citron vodka
put all ingredients in blender and mix till smooth....YUMMMMYYYY....
this is gonna be a GREAT summer drink....I am SOOOOOO sick of margaritas LOL

I bet it would be great in the margarita maker! I love raspberries and lemonaid. I found a great new use for the margarita maker--used it to make homemade fish food, it worked better than my food processor!
If you have a way of getting shaved ice, a great drink is about 1/3 of a can of frozen orange juice concentrate (really like it with orange/pineapple), shaved ice, and a shot of coconut or mango rum then blend it all up. Taste alot like orange julius.
I have another great receipe for adult popcycles I will have to post soon. Too lazy to go downstairs now to get it. It is frozen tea, lemonaid, orange juice, and Jack Daniels--it is yummy!!

LOL...they were very good....only drawback were the seeds from the raspberries....LOL
we should start a thread for summer drink recipes....LOL...hmmmm would that be allowed

K--I'd have to drink alot to spit them across the room, cause I know I have to clean them up! I would probably do that outside. I'm getting to old to drink that much anymore and think it is fun. When my teeth and thighs go numb, its time to stop + now I fall asleep before I get to that point. It doesn't help when I like to drink in front of the aquarium or a campfire, just too relaxing.
Man, I feel old now.

That is a yummy drink! I think a drink thread would be great!! I have a few recipes from my bartending days. I just need to find them.
