First i can only go by my first hand experience. and what i have read. you will not see a nitrate change for at least 35 days. then it will drop off rapidly. over the next week and then stabilize at around 5 mg/l At a reef conference that i attended Julian Sprung stated that after trial and error a starting dosage of 10 ml for 250 g is the way to go. I used 6ml for my 110. I think you will be fine with 4 ml

We all know Joe has the biggest balls of them all here, but I would err on the side of caution myself. I would go with the chart numbers because I worry, it's just what I do!

supratt what's the results so far?
I have some awesome polyp extension!! I have PE on corals I never had it on before!!
I'm still seeing a bunch of algae on the glass and I've had some cyano come and go and now its back again. I also have red turf algae growing....not sure why.
My levels haven't dropped which I pretty much expecting. I expect them to drop once I get to 10ml plus.

what the hell can .4 ml do to me at this stage of my life.
seriously you of course have the ultimate responsibility for your tank but IMO .4 is way way low

3 days. going to go up some more tomorrow, but i dont have your legendary cojones..
ok this is just from my own research and experience. IMO you will not see any drop in nitrates for at least 30 days and then it will drop like a rock. That of course is starting with 4 ml

Joe, he is not going to see a drop in nitrates andyway no matter how long. He is reading zero now. Seems he has an algae problem he is trying to address with the carbon dosing.
So he has nitrates but they are being taken up by the algae at a greater rate than he can test for. Thereofr a zero reading.
