We've decided to "adopt" a soldier.

So, if you were deployed, what would you want in a care package?
If you were sitting in the middle of a foriegn country and some stranger sent you a box full of stuff, what would you enjoy pulling out of your box?
Before I comment on my ideas, I'm going to see what answers show up.
Let's hear everything, even if it sounds outlandish.

As for the letter...Imma put together a real tear jerker.
And a poem. I'm a published poet, remember.
The lotion, visine and wipes, I've heard. The powdered flavor packets are new for me. (thanks)
A funny book sounds good, too. I was going to send an inspirational book anyway. I was going to reasearch positive books that are popular in military circles.

This may sound cheesy... and I don't even know if they'd stay good... but what about something that would remind him/her of home... like chocolate chip cookies.

The only think that I can think of to put in care packages is the stuff my parents used to send me when I was 8 and at camp.

That is allowed and was on the list from our church...I just wasn't sure if they would ship very well.
I would love to send chocolate chip cookies.
Anyone know if they will ship ok?

I would have never thought of this one. I haven't used them in years.

I work for a church, and we do this often....I'm trying to remember all the requests we have gotten before
