55 gallon metal stand at petsolutions = $60.00
55 gallons of saltwater, fish, coral, sand, rock on your floor - priceless!

What makes this worse...I don't know if you guys can tell in the pictures but his tank isn't actually sitting flat on the stand. In the first picture if you look closely you can see that the supports sit up a little bit higher than than the horizontal pieces of the frame. So essentially it's resting on 4 pressure points from what I can tell. I am rather curious to see how long it will hold like that. Infact, the more I look at that stand the more I wonder which will give first, the stand or the tank.

Update, sand is already in place as seen in the first pic. Im not a fan of thick sand.
Hi,

Why risk it? Why don't you at least try what I suggested? If you are too cheap or broke to afford a stand or a nice piece of flat pressed wood, you are in the wrong hobby.

If you read any information on saltwater aquariums you wouldn't say silly things like, you’re not a fan of thick sand. I suppose you think the sand is for looks. Oh and that tiny little rock...what's up with that?

The rock is the biological filtration to supplement the HOB filter, plus is adds ballast to offset the demise of the great crash of 2010.

Hey Dude,

Not trying to be a jerky or anything, but I really hope your not putting sharks in that 55 gallon tank. your making a big mistake if you are. i find it strange how you initially talk about a mysterious 180 gallon tank. Then the entire thread changes to the real tank a 55 gal. Now, just because you had a 10 gallon fw tank does not mean u r ready for salt. trust me. I did my research before diving into SW and i still had major miscalcs. dude, just learn first(because it looks like you need to) then become a hobbyist.
