nitrates are 20ppm, I was told that they do better in dirty water and use nitrates.
Give it time...xenia is one of those odd things..lol...I hear people who are throwing it out cause it takes over their tanks
ME...LOL...I'm lucky I can keep one stalk
I have had it completely shrivel, and then come back in a day....
I have had a piece totally disappear, and then a small stalk show up in another spot

weird stuff....

alk is high as well. it is around 15. where it is at it was standing up but not pulsing yesterday. I cant figure out a good spot for it. there are 2 koralia #4s, one on each end of the tank a koralia #2 pointed at the front pane and then the returns from the sump. Im making some water up now using IO reef crystals instead of the regular IO

is there anything that I can add to the tank that will help buffer the alk levels? Im afraid I am going to loose the xenia waiting for water to mix.

Are you sure it was biting it...or near it...You would be the only person with a xenia eating damsel that I know of

I had a xenia eating Hippo Tang. It doesn't look chewed, it looks like when the bulbs are no good. How old are the lights?

I think that the high alk levels got it to that point in the picture but the damsel is still nipping at it
