Dahling I would love nothing more than to engage in this activity that you have prepared but I am tired tonight...not the first time that has been said to you I am sure.
Again, for those confused by Joe's tactics, the rocks themselves are not alive, just the creatures on them.

A wonderful word Joe, and a very appropriate use of it I must say. I bow to your understanding of the English language.

No not the first time from you, but we must remember the cause (me) and effect (you getting tired or should I say worn out)

Now back to the topic at hand.
So what I have learned so far is that the rock is not live but what is on and in the rock, which is alive. Now when I see posts that encourage hobbyists with established tanks to add more live rocks to combat nitrates what they are really saying is add more anaerobic bacteria. Now not being able to establish if there are in fact anaerobic bacteria with in the rock. Those posts are telling the hobbyist to pay a high price for something that may or may not be there

If I may ask a question w/o getting a sarcastic response....
When you are referring to the live bacteria on the rock, which is why we call it LR, do we also not consider the living critters too as being a part of that "life" for example...pods that may have come in on it, the bristleworms, etc???

Damn Henry I thought I was speaking French
Indeed you would have been had you spelled it differently.
Etymology:
French repartie, from repartir to retort, from Middle French, from re- + partir to divide — more at part
