I am somewhat disapointed in this. He is so George Bush...
And, as you've read in multiple posts from many of us, we don't believe President Bush was a fiscal Conservative either... That is not why we supported him.
So, again, you decry deficit spending, yet vote for someone who ran on a platform of spending like a drunken sailor.

Are you really surprised
No. However, I will be interested on who votes for it in the Senate and House. I haven't seen the total number for it yet. Is it close to McCain's 300 billion to buy up mortgages at list price or is this cheaper than that. This is a tax cut you are all for , correct? You are just getting some of your money back.

We are going to have to do something new to dig out of this mess... The only other likely candidate didn't do anything to prevent it over the last thirty years. This includes Biden too, but he's not on top of the ticket either.

The so called GOD party is in ruins. Too many problems.
See, if you start throwing out silly little cliques like that others will be forced to respond with their own like:
"The so called Nation under God will soon be in ruins..."
Do you reay want to do that, or woudl you rather have an intelligent discussion? Your call.

The biggest problem with cutting spending is that it doesn't make any friends. You tell people you aren't going to be giving them free stuff anymore, they are going to be ticked. And democrats whole platform on what we are going to do for you. That and we hate George Bush.
