What to buy...370z or RX-8

Hey everyone. I wanted some opinions on what car to buy. Ive been doing some research and am leaning towards getting the new 370z. The only downside is I do have a 5yr. old and the car is only a 2 seater. The specs on this car are great and it has a 0-60 time of 4.7sec. On the other hand I also kind of like the rx-8 which is a 4 seater, but doesn't have the speed or power of the 370-z. Anyone have any opinions or experience with either car? Also, if anyone has the 350-z I would like to hear from you too....

well i had the 350z as my junior present. its a 2004 black 350z. ill take a pic of it.
not really an amazing car. lol. i hate the clutch. its had like a mother! but the rest is w.e. i hate the way i feel in it. like i feel ima lay down in the floor. if i was you i will go with the rx-8 since i dont like how i feel in the car. although the speed is amazing and acceleration as well. but the feeling of laying in the floor isnt fun

Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to go test drive one before I make my decision. I know they have made some changes from the 350 to the 370 but I don't know whether they changed what you have mentioned. The other issue I have with the RX-8 is it's the only car on the road, that I know of, with a Rotary engine, so I'm afraid if they ever stop making them, like they did the RX-7, I will really be out of luck when it comes to parts....

Another thing to consider is this...in a 2 seater...you mention a 5 year old. How comfortable will you be placing your 5 year old in the front seat of that tiny compact car????

Oh I totally hear you about my son. I also have a Honda Accord that I would keep. I would never put him in the front seat of the 370z. The reason I brought it up that I had a 5yr old is that we are extremelly close and I know that once I get a new car he is going to want to ride in it. If I get the 370 he wont be able to, unless it's like just around the block. I do like the RX-8, but I love the 370....such a tough choice. Any other options anyone wants to throw out there? I'm looking for a nice sports car, preferably foreign. Also in the 40k and below price range

Can you drop the extra cash on the Infinity G37 coupe or a used Infinity G35 coupe? They are mechanically the same car as the 370z/350z, just the infinitys have a back seat.
I have a friend who bought a used Infinity G35 coupe and absolutly loves it. It would cost you more, but you would be able to take your son for a ride and have similar performance as a 350z or a 370z.

Neither, spend a few more $$$ and get the Infiniti G37....I would get the Z if you didn't have the kid, but a back seat is needed....BTW I've driven all 3.

Nissan577 has a good idea...If you are getting into that price range, I would look at the EVO, it will outperform either, and has 4 doors. You could look at the Subaru too, I just like the EVO Lancer a helluva lot better.

Since you have driven all 3, in your opinion which did you like the best?
Also, I was considering the EVO... I didn't like the look quite as much as the Z, but the specs on that car were great.

While the lancer may perform like a sports car it's got to be one of the ugliest cars on the road these days. Its got nothing on the 370z or RX8 as far as styling goes...

A 5 year old huh? Yeah this poses a problem....Those darn kids lways getting in the way of parents and what they want...makes you wonder why they have them.
Get what you want, there is always the trunk for "storage".

LOL... the question is will the booster seat fit in the trunk

I like the Infiniti the best, though performance wise the Z is about the same, I just like that the G37 has a back seat.
The Lancer is better than both to drive though. I agree looks wise, but you have to drive the EVO to appreciate it.

Well their may be another car in the mix. If I can wait till next year, the Honda s3000 is coming out and it looks real nice. Not sure what it will be priced at, and it's also a 2 seater, but it's a conv. and the pics look really good....I'm going to test drive the 370 first and see what I think...
