Green star polyps, I finally know the name of the coral I have

Are the Pulsating xenia, the ones that seem like a hand opening and closing? I got one from my LFS and they call them pom pom
haha yeah GSP is cool, and yes, the xenia has the opening and closing "hands". they do have many names, as does everything else in this hobby

Looks great, not sure though why the lfs let you buy a shrimp and a shrimp eating fish(sixline wrasse.) I don't think it will last too long but you never know. On a brighter note, your tank is really looking nice. Good job

I too was worried about that and asked them, in her experience she said if the sixline was bigger it might be a problem but its a pretty small sixline, so we'll see.

Glad to see you are mixing your own water, that is absolutely great. Oceanic is a great salt brand, IMO as well

Thanks, it wasnt so hard, and the RO water is only 1/3 of the price

pretty groovy, thanks for asking
the xenia is starting to pulse finally after a couple days, it looks really cool for a weed coral.
Sixline is doing well, i've seen a dramatic drop in isopods, he went to town on them. Looks like the scooter blenny is out for me...too much competition from the sixline. I'll need to decide on another blenny or goby. Too bad I really liked the scooter and they are dirt cheap too. I'm thinking maybe an orange spotted goby next.

Mine decided to make house under a small rock I had put in the tank (not secure by any means) and it caved in on him. Bad housing choice IMO, plus the tank was kinda cloudy for the few days he was alive.
Definitely goes to town on the sand though

I love my sixline wrasse, never harmed a shrimp in my tank, and occassionally cleans of my dwarf angel. I have a Randall's shrimp goby paired with a michaels shrimp. Don't get to see them as often as I would like.

i was thinking about the Randall's goby...i've been researching that one a lot, as well as the yashia, wheelers, and orange spotted.

My favorite is the black ray goby, yellow face, white and blackish stripes and that sweet high dorsal spine.
Oh and I was wondering where you got those lights for your fuge; you can pm me if you need.
