the wife and I went to Michigan, Lancing to be exact, and stayed there for the day. We went to Preus Pets and she bought some corals and I bought....... are you ready for this...... SALINITY!! (the biggin') for 80 bucks!
Lol.....
They had a beautiful saltwater showroom. The manager took us on tour of their saltwater depatment and in the back where they, get this, QT everything!! Live rock, corals, and fish. They QT their fish for up to 6 weeks and if there is an issue they treat accordingly. I was impressed.
They have mother colonies of their corals that they frag from and sell, HUGE corals. They have their corals in the propagation area with no fish in it. He said soon they will have no fish in with their corals at all and will feed the corals twice a week.
Their dry goods were resonably unexpensive, pending on what it was, the corals were kinda pricey and everyone was rather knowledgable and very nice.
Where in Lansing??? I live about an hour and a half away. QT All fish!!! What?? I would love to take a drive up there. That is super cool.
PS. I pay less for the biggin' of Salinity (not much but still less!!).
Kees pets in Metro Detroit.
