im giving an update he is doing amazing!!!!! he moved like one inch down and has been in that spot for about 3 days and is attached verry firmly! his bubbles are huge and i cant even try to get the clowns out

Here is what I am doing in my octopus tank. I remove and clean it every few days. Some people will use mesh over the intake secured with a plastic zip tie. HTH
