Hey there, The tank and its animals are in wonderful shape! I hope who ever gets it can maintain the high level of life! Years ago, back in the mid eighties, when I first got into this reef thing, I remember the LFS that I was dealing with, would buy the coral back at about half price, and if you have pawn shops in your area, you might be able to get a grand for your hardware,have 90 days turn around, and work a deal with the LFS for the animals. What is it you do fun at your regular job? Maybe a local check cashing can help you out with a loan. These guys are expensive though. There is one in Florida, that pays out in advance, based on your check as much as a grand. Is there any financing available with the mechanic? Maybe if you pay for parts, they will finance the labor? Just a few thoughts, Good luck with what ever you do. Steve

Danrw84,
Sorry to see you get out of the hobby. If anyway possible don't sell. You helped me in the past with advice. I hate to see you go.

Hey- Seriously do not do it- Here is why
You wont get as much as you were wanting too
Shipping will be hell
You will miss is a lot
You will really wish you hadent in the future
There is always another way- take a loan- or find a ride till you save the money

Dan,
Very sorry to hear about yoor misfortune!!! I hope it all works out! Just something to think about below
Jeep = problems
Tank = enjoyment!
As much as it pains me to say, you will probably get more mileage out of your tank than the Jeep! Sell it and get a Honda - It will run for a minimum of 200,000 miles and cost you next to nothing in maintenance!
Good luck and I hope it works out for you!!!

I hate to tell you, but as someone who has bid on e-bay I can tell you that the price does not rise until the last day, then also the price will go up at the last minute. People see what they want and then lurk until the last mintue to make bids. Very frustrating when you want to buy something and put in a bid 5 days in advance and then someone comes up in the last hour and makes a bid.
The last thing I got off e-bay someone started bidding in the last 5 minutes. He placed a bid with 1 minute and 36 second to go. I placed the winning bid with 11 seconds to go. It was a birthday present for my brother so I really wanted it. I wrote up the experience for my bro, but I cannot post it here for the language.
My suggestion is to put a reserve on it. Like it has been said before would you be willing to ship it so someone in snow country for $200

Hi Dan!
I see Ryebread bid on ----. Bummed for you guy! Let me know if you need to piece it out. I just took down 2 of my 3 reef tanks; but, I could probably take most if not all of your livestock...
Linda
P.S. The hang on I bought from you is a pod farm on my 100. Only, so far no pods! LOL

sorry to hear that, i really admired your tank. Try to keep it, you dont want to start all over again do you? my dad worked overtime and another chef job at another hotel for 2-3 months and was able to get a saltwater tank.
