worse timing ever

Ok I got my new pump for my protein skimmer and now I have a new problem, my seaclone skimmer keeps putting out foam not big bubbles, I'm getting a new skimmer within the month but I need the skimmer to work until then, any suggestions?

The bubbles should be in the skimmer body and by the time it reached the top it should be a dense foam. I'd imagine yours should be pretty foamy right now since the systems has been without a skimmer for a little while. It's probably going to pull out alot of foam.

Ok well the foam might be a little too fine but that's ok, mine puts alot of microbubbles in the tank
you may have to make a few adjustments with the airline......I had 3 of these...LOL....

If your getting micro bubbles, you need to turn down the air a bit. OR, you may be able to place a piece of foam pad under the outlet to catch the bubbles. Not real sure how your using the skimmer.

I just bought a coralife needle wheel skimmer today and was going through setup and it said it needs a 24 hr period to break in, does that mean with bubbles or without?

sheesh, I said it was a bad analogy LOL
You don't think the pump on the protein skimmer is lubricated? Though I doubt that type of lube falls to the bottom. It is probably more viscous.

in my opinion needle wheel skimmers are horrible because they clog up real fast and u hav to replace the needle... but thats me
