The thing is nothing, other then the old posts, has been lost with this upgrade. As far as I'm concerned it actually very intuitive to use with room for growth in the future, the social groups, calendar, articles, etc. As for the old threads, I posted a decent work-around in the stickied threaded in Ask SWF, that should be able to find whatever thread you're looking for.
If you are having issues, check your machine. Make sure your Windows is currently updated, all your drivers, more so the video drivers are current, and your browser is the latest version. As noted throughout this thread, not everyone is having a problem. I am definitely not sure what the aversion to technology is all about. If you're having serious issues getting a forum to work, I would really suggest taking some computer classes at the community college. The world around you is only going to get more involved with the computer.
