An octopus would be awesome....
..... currently thinking of upping my most expensive fish to a 100.00 yellow bellied hippo tang or 160 dollar achilles.

They can be. With a lil common sense and some extra time they arent as hard to keep as people say. I wouldnt recommend it to a complete beginner but if you do your research and plan for one it can be fun. Also they dont live long so you have to factor that in.

90 bucks for my new Chevron Tang. Not too expensive, but spent 4 months looking for it. Online prices are much more expensive; mine was blind luck that I found him.

I paid $80.00 for a big beautiful Purple tilefish that jumped out that very night.
I use eggcrate now.
I also paid $119.00 for a flame angel that didn't even survive two days. LFS does not have a guarantee - when it leaves the store, no money back period .
Now I buy online at SWF.com

Achilles tang $165 @ LFS...Died In QT and was at least given 75% store credit!! Currently most expensive is my black Oscellaris @ $65.00

Yikes - most I spent was $150 on a Scribbled Angel, but that was in 1982, so what's that today?
Not only that, but I worked at the shop, so I got it at cost...
I don't do that anymore. At least not w/ a 20 gal tank. When the 72 goes up though...

i am just stocking my 225 with a 120 sump.
bought a 7 inch ahilles 6 weeks ago for $200
just got a 6 inch fowleri tang for $250 and a 6 inch goldflake angel for $350.
both are in my 90 gallon qt doing great.
i have a look out for a golden puffer now.
glad my company is doing good or i'd be lookin at a semi empty tank right now.
luckily my wife dont ask too many questions about the fish just that she likes them.

I once bought a goldfish at a carnival, didnt actually pay FOR him....
It was fate. Happened so fast........
I threw a dime and it landed in a glass......
Some dirty guy that smelled like WD-40 and Stale smoke handed me a bag with a fish in it.
I knew then it was magic...you see for those of you that are married can vouch. Its a snowball effect.
Once wife sees the bag-
The fish gets a macho name....
THEN the innocent looking little fish uses his superior powers of mind control on your wife. Won't work on you, so they go after the women.....Diabolical little creatures....
See because he tells your wife he NEEDS A friend!! (boom another 20.00 in dimes)
THEN they must gang up or something because they start to whine about thier living arraingments.(Boom! 300 on the way home to build the little guy a fish mansion from MTV cribs)
So most expensive fish has GOT to be a goldfish I got for a Dime (with superpowers of mind control)

Shopping for the right price for a fish??? It was the only LFS around. I didn’t even know you could buy fish online back then.

Pair of crosshatch triggers -$650, but that's nothing, ccambell has a clarion angel. Google it and see how much they are.
