Thanks, I was leaning towards that - don't really want it on my monti.

I have this thing growing on my monti cap. I wouldn't be quite so concerned about it, but I have not seen anything like it before, and its on my prized monti cap =P. Its a little hard to tell, but it is weaving a pretty nice web. It has made itself a nice little tube on the side of my monti. Any...

    Fragging Monti Cap

Its a capricornis. Lots of smaller shelves. Any minimal size you would suggest? O, and ninja, as long as you aren't at Ohio or Pitt, all is good =). Let me know if you ever want to come up.

    Fragging Monti Cap

This thing has grown like a beast for me. I'm gonna put a timeline together after I frag it showing its growth over time. It's about 4-5" underwater with 2X96W PC lights above it. I remember watching a video where the guy put the piece sideways. I'm debating doing two or three frags and testing...

    Fragging Monti Cap

Hello, my monti cap is growing way too large for the cement plug it came on (I was guilty and didn't glue it to a rock at first) and it will not stay upright anymore. I was wondering if anybody had any tips or links on information on how to frag them. It has a bunch of different shelves. Should...

    Bubble algae

Well, I have almost no bubble algae in my tank finally. I found my main problem. The cone shaped cover over my overflow (bulkhead? forget my terminology =P) was almost clogged with bubbles. So I took that off and cleaned it out really well and put it back on. I really turned up the water...

    Bubble algae

Yeah, I've been working at it for the past weeks. Still pretty tough cause a lot of them are in pockets in my rockwork. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help =)

    Bubble algae

Yeah, have a 10g sump beneith the tank that I grow macro algae in. I really am glad I put it in as it helps a lot. Its just confusing me why the bubble algae is the only algae I am getting besides the stuff on the glass (nothing bad, it gets hazy about once every other week or so - I just run...

    Bubble algae

Well, any of the bubbles I have I can't pull out cause they are on the rocks so hard. Also, they are inside my what0cha-ma-call-it on my overflow. The cone shaped grate thingy-ma-bob. I think I'm just going to pull it out and clean it really well and put it back in because thats where I'm...

    gsp dying...

This might not pertain to you specifically, but I thought I'd put it out there for reference sake. Mine were growing like a week and I split them and moved half up to the top of my tank and half down. While I think they like the extra light, I beleive micro algae of sorts grows on the rock in...

    Bubble algae

Hey guys, I'm having issues with bubble algae in my 30g reef. Other forms of algae not so much though. All my nitrogen cycle levels are at zero. I use RO/DI water now from the lfs - really helped my massive algae problem I had for about a year. Also have a remora hanging off the back of it...

    Securing Monti Cap

If you actually search for my name and monti cap, you can see the pictures when I got it and a couple pictures of its progress. It has really taken off since I went to school. My kalk drip got stuffed up though, and gotta get it back on pretty quickly - really likes that...

Am I sick.. do I have a problem?

Well, the question is how much money do you make... That will tell you if you have a problem. If it is more than 3.1k, then you are fine and on track =). Don't actually listen to others and their financial advise, they are the sick ones - listen to us fish lovers ;). Money is overated anyways...

    KH GH test?

the purple (coralline) is kinda more of a thermometer in my opinion. It will grow when everything (lighting/temp/chemistry) is just inline. Regular water changes and good lighting (I'm not sure about the lighting on coralline, I have a reef so already have strong lighting) will cause it to grow...

    KH GH test?

Keep It Simple Stupid Kiss... found it a great thing to go off with these forums. Really hardness is one of those things you don't want to mess with. Its tied into that whole Ph ordeal. If you are using a decent salt mix or getting good premade stuff and doing regular water changes, you should...

    Securing Monti Cap

Hello, long time no post =). Anywho, I bought a monti cap quite a while ago, and originally the frag was about the size of the cement plug it came on. Now it's grown quite a lot. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on how to secure this thing to a rock easily so I could keep it from...

    Colorful specimen for 5g

The 30g is doing great. Never been better actually (read the filtered water thread =P). I just wanted to get the 5g to hop into the nano field since it would be ideal for school for me. I was just stating that after the school year or whenever the fish outgrew the 5g, it could be moved to my...

    Tang and featherduster HELP

Tangs have been know to be notorius feather duster eaters. They have a bad tendancy to slowly graze off of them; especially when hungry. Maybe try to keep the tang well fed. You can try moving it, but I have a feeling the tang will continue to pick on it =(.
