When I do my water changes the newly mixed water does not have the levels that I am looking for in my tank. Since all salt mixes are low on something is it okay to dose whatever is short directly into the new water. That way it will match the take levels from the start. Thanks.

My canopy has an open top and it would work out perfectly if I was to place the halide reflector on top. If I secured it so it couldn't fall off how dangerous would it be with the ends of the reflector to be resting on wood? Thanks
