Adding new sand to an existing tank can throw it back into a cycle. The only sand I know of that is acceptable to do this with is Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Live Argonite.

I am upgrading my skimmer. Is the Aqua C Remora EV 120 hard to plumb? I have never plumbed anything ;) Does all of the tanks exit water get plumbed into it? Also, was looking at the Urchin. It is cheaper and looks easier to use. Any difference in performance? I asked on somebody elses skimmer...

What size is your tank? Maybe you shouldn't have stocked it so heavy even after 3 months. Also corals should not be added until the tank is well established. What kind of lighting for that scallop? Some take very high lighting.
