if your just getting started and willing to commit to weekly water changes you can do without a skimmer for quite a while

if you leave it out in the air it will kill everything and you wont need to cure it because it will be just like base rock, over time your other LR will recolonize the rock-without the algea

that seems like a lot of top off to me, do you have glass tops? is your tank in the direct path of an ac vent/fan?

u guys are right, its opening more and more a little each day

everything is within normal range, ntrate is probably a little up there maybe 15 or so, under 72watts of t-5, some of them were opening yesterday but not fully

well they still wont open and they are getting an algea growing on them, the edges are turning a little white.....when do I give up and take em back or give to a friend?
