a question you prolly never thought of

i read a study that said that the amount of fish that we take for the hobby is so small that it does nothing to the populations of fish on the reef. what does though is when people cianide the reefs and over fishing.

    cleaner wrasse

before anybody says it i will say it. cleaner wrasses should not be purchased because they don't belong in a tank, but in the ocean because they are specialized in eating parasites and are needed for the fish on the reef. ok so now to what i wanted to say. i got a cleaner wrasse from my friend...

    copperbanded butterfly

i wouldn't get a copperbanded butterfly, a bunch of people i know have tried them without success, i would go with peppermint shrimp instead of the butterfly. a lot of times it's that the butterfly won't eat.

Angel Fish, To buy or not to buy. That is my question.

i have a queen right now and have had him for 2 years now. i got him when he was about 3 inches and is now around the 6-7 inch range. he is by far my most favorite because of the personality on this fish. he is not afraid of anything, he eats out of my hand, always in the front of the tank...

    help deciding between angelfish!!!

i'd go for the pygmy aka cherub they are constantly moving, never afraid, and if you wanted you could add more than one as long as there is only 1 male. also my cherub is in with some feather dusters, sponges, polyps and hasn't touched any of them.

something i've noticed about peoples answers on this site

i agree people on this site take things way too far, take a look at the bangaii cardinal thread. granted people don't like seeing damsels being used to cycle but that's your opinion and the guy wasn't even talking about the damsels and wasn't even part of the question and almost all but like 2...

    would this work? [150 gallon]

they're suppose to eat anything that can fit in their mouths, but i have mine in with a maroon clown 2", fiji devil blue damsel 1.5", a cherub angel 2", and a cleaner and blood shrimp. plus my queen angel. he hasn't touched anything. i think as long as you keep them fed you have nothing to worry...

    Keeping shrimp

you want a higher salinity. nothing lower than 1.020 because any lower and they start to die. most people keep it higher around 1.023-25, but i keep mine at 1.020 to help with the prevention of parasites and have never had problems with my inverts. the more perfect your water the better as they...
