I don't think they are brittle stars... they look like they are attached to the rock and not coming out of it. Think they could be sponges of some type?

Well I left for 5 days for Christmas. To my surprise when I got home my live rock sprouted a bunch of these tentacles. They definitely weren't there when I left. They move on their own and they don't seem to bug anyone in the tank. Anyone know what they are? Thanks guys

Just wanted to say thanks again for the info... it took awhile but I think its all gone. I did a nice big water change... siphoned out the slime, cut down on feeding and left the lights out for a couple days and it appears to be gone! Thanks again guys... you are life savers!

Thanks for the help... I will give it a try! I haven't done anything to the tank yet other than feeding a little less and it already looks like its starting to go away... I will do a water change tonight and vacuum out the cyano if I have time... if not I will do it tomorrow. Thanks again guys!

Can anyone tell me if this is red slime algae? This picture was taken... maybe 2 weeks ago? and this was taken a few minutes ago I'm starting to get a little worried about this as it seems to be popping up in other places too... but not as bad yet.

Well if their population will rise and fall... I'm not going to buy a fish specifically to eat them. I wouldn't want it to starve.

We are having what looks like an outbreak of copepods lol the glass is covered with thousands of these little guys! I was wondering what can we get that is easy to care for and eats copepods?
