Well a fuge will outcompete your algae in your display tank so that you don't get hair algae or any of these very annoying algaes. The Macro algae will eat up much more nutrients than Micro Algae's (hair or other micro algaes). So fuge is very usefull for keeping algae out of your display.
I do not run a Fuge or Refugium and have started to have a successful tank. I learned the hard way that if you don't do Major maintenence when not using these 2 things then your tank will have algae problems. If you work hard at it though then you can do it without these 2 things.
It is much...
Thank you very much for the replies I am thinking of getting some of these. Do they look like these? This is a picture I took a long time ago but I gave these to a friend after he begged for them and payed me a pretty penny so I would like to get them back now cause I miss em.
What you described in your post was definatly a molt but they are very weak and vulnerable during this time it may have been attacked by something while it was molting. Have you looked at night? Use a flashlight to search the tank at night and see if you see anything.
No the fish has been like this for over 3 weeks now constantly. Its action is very weird also kinda seems like its being dominated by the other clown which looks VERY VERY healthy. I am feeding the clowns formula 1, spirilinia (sp), frozen brine. It kinda looks like its skin/scales is coming...
If any of these guys touch each other will they sting? I know ricordea sting yuma ricordea but wasn't sure about anything else. Will any of these combo's hurt each other if touching?
I have 2 clowns I got together and added them at same time. One of the clownfish is losing its color very badly. It is turning grey and fading very badly. Anyone know whats going on? The other fish are just fine just this one.
