Well... The pipe is completely dry on each side of it. I tried spreading GOOP all over it and it didn't seem to work. So... I went to home hardware tonight and I bought a roll of something called Magic Wrap. I'll let you know how it works. it is suppose to make a solid rubber seal around...

I'm not to concerned about the coraline algae - although I do want that to re-grow. I just want to make sure that it will still do its "job".

I bought my 90g tank about 2 or 3 months ago now. It was infested with bubble algae when the other guy owned it so I was advised to put the LR in a Rubbermaid container and put the lid on it to stop the light. I did that. I have a heater maintaining 80 degress. Salt is right. 2 powerheads...

Are you talking about the sand that they sell at the LFS?? They sell 15lbs of what they call Live Sand. It is packaged in a plant but you can see that there is water in the bag.

PLUMBING LEAK!!! Help... I fired up my tank today and everything works like a charm. I tested the siphon break 3 or 4 times and worked without fail! There is one 90 degree elbow under the tank (the drain line) that has a slow leak. One drip every 6 or 7 seconds. Everything else seems to be bone...

I never thought that I would have to read directions to sand! No, as I mentioned in the original post, I did not rinse it. Should I empty the tank and do it again, or just leave it and run the skimmer and powerheads??
