    Skimmer options

ATB, Hurricone,Super Reef Octopus,MSX/SWC. You may have a problem fitting one of these in a 40g breeder if you have much else going on in the sump. I been told that the sump saver versons dont preform as well. You might be better off going with one that does not sit in your sump. I have done...

    sump, refugium, skimmer setup

I use a small pump to supply the flow for the fuge. This way I can control how much or little I like. The biggest downfall to this setup I have found is that is had to control the micro bubbles with only one set of baffles.

Im new here and kinda to the hobby

I will give them to you but im not going to spend money so you can have them for free. If your close its a good deal but not worth alot of gas money to spend on some soft corals. Its up to you. I can give you 2-3 stalks of pom pom xenia, cabbage coral, hairy green mushroom, and maybe a small ric.

    Running Carbon, Yeah or Nay?

When Randy Holmes-Farlly says he runs carbon 24-7 I would not question it. "I run GAC 24/7 in a canister filter to reduce yellowing, remove toxins, and generally reduce organic material in the water. I discuss what organics may do in the water here: Organic Compounds in the Reef Aquarium"...
