Turn your filters on. I would run some carbon. Give it a couple of more hours and it should be find. The sand will settle down eventually. I don't think the fish will suffer any ill-effects. Just a really bad sand storm. :happyfish Go read a book or do something time consuming and before you...

I woke up this morning and found my coral beauty dead . It was floating up in the corner of my tank. It was doing fine the day before. I had it for about eight months. No problems ever. My other fish are doing fine. Of all of my fish I thought for sure my coral beauty would be the one to live...

    Homemade Fish Food

I attempted to make my own fish food and it came out like clay. It looked pretty bad. Had the consistency of wet mashed potatoes. I used freshed peeled shrimp, scallops, clams, and octopus. I put all of the ingredients in a blender, not a food processor. I blended the ingredients for a couple...

    Bangaii Cardinal Dying

I've bought three (each on seperate occasions) bangaii cardinal fish and all died. The guy at the LFS told me they were hardy, but they turn out to be quite the opposite. They are the only fish I've ever had a problem with. All of mine ate very well for the first week and all of sudden they stop...

CPR Overflow; Bad Mojo and Investment

    what is this?!?!?!?!

It's a Sand Crab. I had some in my tank for awhile but they parished. They like cold water and are filter feeders. Out here in California, you can dig them out of the sand with a bucket and get them by the handful. I wouldn't recommend them being in a tank. Hard to keep and will eventually die.

    sand bed and canister filters

I have a Via Auqa 750 Canister Filter. It works pretty good. You can fine one for about 90-100 bucks. As far as maintenance they are pretty straight forward but you have to disconnect hoses, open up the filter and clean the media trays. I wouldn't recommend one if you don't enjoy cleaning...
