What do you think this is?

Yikes! Flashbacks! About 10 years ago I had an account cleaning and maintenancing the lobster tanks at Red Lobster. I used to pull on average 10 or 20 almost that big every month from their holding tanks!! YEEECCCHH! I could never figure out where they came from or how they managed to keep...

    Upgrading soon! have some Q's

WOW! dude that is a big question. How about list what equipment you have now? Some of this stuff can probably be used on the new tank. This of course will save you some money. Once we know what you have currently we can put together a list of what you might need. Moby

    What is it?

Is it not also possible that the pod levels drop low enough that the flatworm's population drops, but doesn't die. Then while the pod population rises again, the flatworm population rises and rises, until it doesn't have enough pods to sustain it, so it again drops. The pod population then rises...

    What is it?

Whatever the situation, if the flatties are successful, they'll eat all the available pods and the population will eventually die from starvation, succeeded most likely by the resurgance of pods. Just a various occourance in the home tank... the explosion of one population that ends when it...

    Filter Help Please!!!!!

If you are going to have 200lbs of LR in a 75......skimmer and a couple powerheads and you could bypass any kind of filter, LR is THE BEST filter out there, Bioballs are a trate trap too, seriously, with all that LR you would be fine with just a skimmer, good waterchange schedule, and blow off...

    Chemi-Pure = No water changes?

I think that for those of us that have been doing this along time have to keep in mind we should be careful what we advocate in a forum for new hobbiest. New fishkeepers are easily influenced by the things we post on this forum, they simply don't have the experience to know what is common...

    Chemi-Pure = No water changes?

psssst!! I trimmed the nose hairs, they are still noticable? LOL,dadummy, I think you got them all, but you should stop trying to use them as a "comb over"! I was told by my LFS that since Chem pure is in a bag that I can actually just lay it over the sponge in my sump, Do you think this is...

    Oxygen

You could lower the water temp a little. As long as it doesn't get too cold. Cold water holds more dissolved O2 then warm water. Moby

    First pics of tank

I wasn't implying i don't like pig products. It had never crossed my mind to consume the joint of the animal I think most sane people would have this same thought! Angrycrab, I don't think I would pony up to much start up capital for a "Rooter to Tooter" franchise in Atlantic city just yet...

    bristle worm

If that really is a bristleworm he was just probably irritating them and they reacted by closing up. Keep an eye on them and see if they open up in a day. Moby

    any tips for good circulation

p.s. you can use a closed loop also...for water flow...circulation IMHO, this is the best choice. Very straight forward and not too hard on the pocket book. The custoflo is intriquing, if you used this type of layout with bulkhead fittings and all you saw were the nozzles (inside the tank), I...

    New and ready to learn...

Easy on the new guy, he has to start somewhere. Starting with questions is always the way to go. Keep reading and doing your research. I think most folks here are more than happy to share their knowledge. Don't be afraid to ask. Teen's list is a good place to start. Look up some of...

    First pics of tank

LOL no i'm not from the south. 'Hog knuckles' is an inside joke among a few friends of mine. What do you do in the south with hog knuckles? Eat them? I would imagine the knuckle to be rather bony. Yeah, we eat them. Don't knock it til you try it. Down south, every part of the pig is eaten...

    any tips for good circulation

Looks really cool! As long as you can hide most of the plumbing with live rock and sand. Certainly looks like the water flow would not be an issue. Moby

    Chemi-Pure = No water changes?

Do I think water changes are necessary? Yes. Why? Because it is not harmful to do them. I have never seen anything in my 15+ years that has convinced me that water changes are not neccessary. There is no product on the market for the hobbiest that makes changing water an obsolete practice. If...
