Here's a pic of the little guy...
He's only about the size of a nickel and he's not quite as bright as I've seen some of the more expensive ones but with some TL&C he'll be an impressive centerpiece in my tank one day! :D
BTW any tips on how get the green parts of his flesh to brighten? A good...
So I have this rock in my aquarium that I think would look really good if it.had a bunch of ricordia mushrooms on it. However, I also have my GSP colony growing on the same rock. If I put ricordias on this rock, do you think the GSP would eventually spread over them?
Just went to the store to add to my CuC and they had a little baby scolima for only $30! Its a little piece and the green parts arent as bright as the orange... But these guys are usually $200 so for $30 I couldn't let this piece go!
Now that its been brought up I have noticed my diamond goby nipping around the tentacles to get at the sand under it so I suppose its possible that this is annoying the elegance.
Strange thing now is that I did my routine water change over the weekend and tested for imbalances... everything...
You think so? How can you tell? The tentacles don't look chewed on... they just aren't fully extended, as far as I can tell (all tentacles still have their pink tips).
Oh and FYI before I started dosing with magnesium all the tentacles were short. Now that I have been dosing magnesium, almost...
So I've had this cool looking Elegance coral in my tank for a while now. Lately, it hasn't extended its tentacles. I asked about this at my LFS where I got it from, and they suggested I increase magnesium dosages, and that has helped a little. I also read that Elegences tend not to extend their...
I don't think its a coral... like I mentioned earlier when I came home last night I noticed bubbles forming inside it... so I figured this patch of green is a young bubble algae.

So I have an interesting patch of algae growing on some of my rock. Its bright, almost neon green and actually looks like its part of the rock (same texture as the rock its on). The interesting thing about it is that it changes color to match the rock when the lights are off, so in the morning...
I'm a huge fan of Eco Exotic LEDs. They are pretty cheap compared to other lights I've seen out there and less then $200 worth of their Panorama modules keeps all the corals (including SPSs) in my 40 gallon happy.
So... one of the diodes on my LED light fixtures malfunctioned and is no longer working. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they will be happy to repair/replace the light but I have to ship them the unit. I'm going to assume that it will take several days before I get a new light... so...
Assuming all your filtration and parameters are good, I highly recommend a pair of Ecoexotic Panorama combo fixtures (blue/white) for your 30 gallon tank. I'm running two on my 40 gallon tank and I have about a dozen of coral pieces in my tank (including some SPS corals). And they are all doing...
Pitch Black is the reason I would watch any Vin Diesel movie without question lol. No matter how ridiculous the trailer seems, once I see that Vin Diesel is in it, the decision to see the movie has been made lol.
