    proper cleaning???

What kind of filtration are you using? I had a Na problem with my wet/dry, so I took all the bio balls out and just used it as a sump tank and levels droped over night. I also recommend pulling your power heads out every 6 mounths or so and clean them out good especial the impeller.

    Hydrometer Opinion

The only prolem I see with those types of testers is that you need to have NO current in the tank or it will not read right. So if you don't mind shuting off all your power heads and filers then it should be fine. I would recommend of ones with the floating arm. Jus my $.02 ;P

    Salinity

add salt. I use instant ocean. Put 3 gallons or so of water into a five gallon bucket and add two cups of instant ocean or other salt additive and mix it up really good until all the salt is melted. Add a air stone to arreate the water for a while then add it to your tank. If you have a sump I...

    Moving Reef tank

I have had my tank setup for about 2 months and I need to move it down stairs due to the fact that it is getting to much sun light and I can't get the temp below 80-84 (which I think is why most my stuff is dying and my alge is out of control). I have added a black sheet around the tank during...
