i found it! it's a striped long tentacled anenome, thanks to someone who posted an ad on craigslist...thanks for all the help...anyone else own one?

The base is buried in the sand and the foot is attached to the glass, I can see it from underneath the tank. When I placed it in the tank, the base appeared smooth, no ridges or markings of any sort.

thank goodness for this post! i am designing a 55g frag tank with a fuge below and will be using a 55g to grow macro...i'm using leftover parts and couldn't figure out how to properly slow the flow of my quiet1 4000 pump to match the 600 gph overflow. research pays off!

the tentacles stay extended at all hours, unlike a bta which close up if i am not mistaken. anyhow, its amazing and huge! over 18" when fully open. my clown is loving life!

Anything interesting to trade for? Upgraded to MH's, these are 48" 4x65W Coralife Aqualight CF hood, 2x Actinic and 2x 10,000K, -Straight Pin. Am in South Florida. Also have a wet/dry for a 90g and an extra 55g that can go along with a stand for a 48" tank. Have pics if anyone is interested.

the key was to point a powerhead at them..they grew like crazy!

do you hear a clicking noise in your tank ever? maybe a mantis shrimp came in some of your rock

no ich in 2 years...so far so good...i'll keep an eye...if they looked stressed i'll upgrade.
