I know I leave my lights on to long. Roughly 12 hours. I only have one blue knuckle crab, about 30 snails, they don't eat the hair algae on the rocks though. I don't have a tremendous amount of flow. ( the tank is a 30 gallon octagon) I am reducing the amount of light down to about 8-9 hours...

That last picture may be a sundial snail. Bad snail, will eat polyps/corals

Yeah, I am worried I amy have to do that as well. The problem is I have them due to some bubble algae and hair algae. They are doing a great job eating that stuff as well.

I have an emerald crab that eats just about everything. Lately he has been picking on my zoas and trying to eat them. The zoas just close up, but I was wondering if the emerald crab will continues to do this? There is plenty of other food for him in the tank. (Couple bubble algae, some hair...

Does anyone ever feed zoos once in awhile? Or is it purely light?

Why is it bad? Because it will cover everything? I can scrub it off pretty easily, and it is only on one rock for now.

I wasn't sure, it is about the size of a half dollar, but closely resembles zoos. I just wasn't sure because it is so big. It was a hitchhiker on the LR. It just grew out of the inside of the rock. It has been growing for about 2 1/2 years.

Is red slime algae a bad thing? Should I remove it? Also, the last picture is (I believe) some sort of polyp. It has a stalk and is growing out of a hole of my live rock. I am not saying it isn't an anenome, I don't know. Thanks for the info.

LOL... Yeah, they are under one 50/50 and a dual actinic (2x65W) Can't wait for them to spread.

Ok, I have two things I need help identifying. The first thing is a red slime that is covering my rocks. It is soft and slimy. Picture 2 is some sort of filter feeder.

Nice, thanks for the pic. Do you guys (and gals) think that 5 heads for $25 is a good price? I am not sure how much these normally go for. I will also be getting 20 heads of red zoo's for $15.
