    When to add clean-up crew

If the crew is added before fish, what will they clean-up? Would it be a drastic mistake to add a couple of perc. clowns prior to adding the clean-up (once a gain a 46 gallon bow front with a few lbs of live rock).

Use of rock found on beach

I am at the beach this week, and my daughter found an interesting rock that looks like a broken piece of reef. Can I take this home and use it in my aquarium? Do I need to boil it first?

    When to add clean-up crew

My 46-bowfront is finishing up its cycle (a few pounds of live rock and some lace rock in there). I started the cycle with a cocktail shrimp. I want to add the first fish soon. Should I begin adding the clean-up crew before, during, or after the addition of the fish. I was planning on adding...

    clean up crew after cycle

I am currently cycling a 46gal fowlr(although I only hav about 15lbs of cured lr and 15 of lace). I plan to add a clean up crew after the cycle. How much should I add? Would one of the smaller reef pkgs from this site be too much? Can I add a whole "package" right after the cycle?

    Success with crushed coral?

I recently set-up a 46-gal bowfront for a FOWLR. The guy at the LFS rec. crushed coral, which I added to my tank. I have read various posts denouncing crushed coral? Has anyone out there had any success with the stuff or am I just setting myself up for a nightmare?

Cycling a new 47 gallon with Live Rock

Hi all. I am new to saltwater (I have 2 Freshwater tanks). I set up a new 47 gallon bowfront 3 days ago. I plan on having a FOWLR, and using the LR to cycle. I am thinking about getting some live rock today and placing it in the tank. The catch is this- I leave for vacation in 8 days...
