I wish I could be this message board software doesn't have a way to edit the poll or I don't have access to do that.
But I can't find Any T-5 VHO light bulb or are the bulb you talking about are HO's which I can see do come in T-5's
Plus the HO I see have a two year life span and cost $10 less...
I am guessing you are going to say the best IS MH? Which I know is good but I also know MH creates a lot of heat and you almost need a chiller in order to run them.
This is why I wanted to run fluorescent, so they will run cooler.
Is VHO a good type of lighting or is it out dated? I am right now am Setting up 2-110 VHO light bulbs, but I am wondering if I should switch it to something else like Power Compacts. Suggestions.
I think VHO are better then PC, but I don't know.
Well I do have an big time algae problem right now, so I think I will let him stay for now and if it gets to bad I will just start throwing them into my reef tank for my hermit crabs to use :)
Well I am working on adding 60 pounds more of Live rock so hopefully they will have plenty of places to hide and stand without affecting the other fish.
Or I could do what my friend did and buy an snowflake Eel that takes care of a lot of fish and CBS :) Let just say the Eel got a new home in...
That is the least of my worries, with the money I will save in electricity I can buy a new ballast every year :) But if I can get it to work I won't need to worry about that.
The last thing I added was an Plecostomus from walmart about 4 months ago, but there was no gravel or anything that was in the bag with the fish.
It looks like an Olive Nerita Snail, If that helps.
No this one is fairly large it's about 1 " big. I have not added any plants or fish for about 5 months now.
All I do know is I have to get rid of it or the whole tanks will be filled with them.
I have had a Freshwater tank setup for about six years and some how today I found a Snail on the Glass. How is it possible to get a snail with out adding a snail? Could it be a saltwater snail in my freshwater tank????? I did use the same brush once from my saltwater tank on my freshwater tank...
I know if you buy one and replace your current outlet in the wall you can do that for about $6. That is what I did, it take up no room and make your tank safe from stray voltage and also keep me safe in case I get electrocuted it will also turn off the power. You can get them at any hardware...
That what I am trying to find out is the pin out. I know that I could easily build one for a fraction of the price that I can by one for. I just want the dimmer, so I can run my ballast at 50% power for right now. I think two 110watt lights for a 55 gallon is a little too much power.
This happened to me as well. The switch that turn the heater stuck on and my tank got to about 90 too before I saw the temp, so high. After it cooled off it also started working again, but you are safer just to throw the old one out and get a new one. I would not trust my heater after it did...
The other thing you could do is run your heater off an GFI Outlet that way if some does happen again it will cut the power instantly.
I run my Lights, Heater and pump on one just in case something goes wrong and start to leak stray voltage.
Does anyone know how to make a dimmer for an Icecap 660 ballast? I know I can buy a Solar dimmer for $150, but hoping to make a cheap manual Dimmer.
Any help would be great thanks.
