    Zoo Question

About 4 weeks ago I had a couple of small frags that died. This caused my ammonia to spike a little. The three large zoo colonies I have all closed up. The tank is now stable but the zoos won't open up except for a few polyps. Will they eventually open or are they dead?

    Instant Invert Death

I don't know a lot about your problem but I remembered my dad had a very similar problem about 10 years ago. I just spoke with him and he said what caused his invert problems (almost identical to yours) was that he used a plastic hose in the system that he bought from a hardware store...

    Clown found new home

Our Clown fish was not doing to well, so we put him in a seperate tank that we use for frags so we could medicate him. He took up residence in a plastic bowl that I have some mushrooms in! It is the funniest thing- when you feed him, he'll take a mouthful of brine shrimp and spit it out into the...

    Fraggins Shrooms Problem

How long ago did they move? One of mine moved and it took a week for a baby to show up. If it's been a while, I am not sure why it didn't leave babies behind. I'm sure someone on this site will know!!! :) I did notice last night that one of my "failed" frags that squeezed through the net has...

    Fraggins Shrooms Problem

It is a great way to get more mushrooms for free! The only draw back is you can't control where the mushroom is moving to! That's the reason why I am tyring to frag them myself!

    Fraggins Shrooms Problem

Point a Power Head at them. When they don't like where they are (in this case, too much flow) they move and leave little babies behind!

    Fraggins Shrooms Problem

That's what I did! I even put them in a seperate tank with hardly any flow! Do you know of any other ways to get them to attach? I might just put some rubble pieces close to him and just wait and see!

    Fraggins Shrooms Problem

How do you get the superglue to work? I have read all the posts that have to do w/fragging them, followed everyones suggestions to the "t" and they still didn't stay! In the morning, I end up with a free floating shroom and a piece of LR with a glob of glue on it!

    Fraggins Shrooms Problem

Makes sense! I tried the super glue method last night- didn't work either! I think next I am going to try the shot glass method- putting a mushroom and rock in a shotglass in no flow area and hope it attaches!

    Fraggins Shrooms Problem

I've fragged a few shrooms and am having a problem. I cut them, netted them and then placed them in a low flow area. After a few days, they just disappear! I don't know what's going on here! Did they die? This has happened three times now with three different sets of shrooms. My non-fragged...

    sea horse and pipefish

Please make sure you do lots of research prior to getting a SH. They are close to if not an endangered species and should only be kept by those who know what they are doing. Pipe fish are in the same family and are somewhat difficult to care for. Most will eat brine, most capepods found in your...

Seahorse Tank - How do I cycle?

Jobob- In my experience and research, I would not recommend live rock in your tank with dwarves."Dwarf seahorses are very susceptible to stings from the hydroids and Aiptasia anemones that often hitchhike on live rock, let alone predatory crabs and mantis shrimp. Conditions in a dwarf seahorse...
