Sorry there are no tangs that can live in that size tank as they all need a lot of room to swim. Its better to get a smaller fish that will be happy. If you got a tang they will be stressed and a stressed tang = ich and the next thing all your fish will get it. Just not worth taking the chance

Oh forgot to say to do a large water change with the RO/DI water. Another good investment to keep hair algae away is a Phosphate reactor as phosphates are what is causing your algae problem and they are cheap less than $50 and worth their weight in gold.

I agree a 125 is to small I have a 150 = 60"x24"x24" and I would not put one in mine.

The Purple Tang is a definite no. It would be under stress in that size of a tank and you know what happens when a tang is stressed they get ick and then all your fish get it just not worth taking the chance.
