I'm setting up a 150. I only have two fish left in my 35 - two ocellaris. My lemonpeel and gramma died when my skimmer stopped skimming on vacation and my ammonia skyrocketed.
The plan is to add a large angel with the chromis and cardinals. Something else, but not sure what - maybe a tang of...
I 'm setting up a bigger tank this fall and have a question about adding new fish.
The plan is to set up the larger tank and let it cycle. Move my existing livestock over. Then, I plan to use my old 35 gal tank as a QT for the new fish. Can I add multiple fish to the 35 gal tank at the same...
I just got my new 150 gallon tank and now I get to plan the fish to go in it!
I currently have only two ocellaris in my existing tank (my lemonpeel and gramma were the victims of a broken skimmer while I was on vacation).
Can I add these together?
3 Banggai Cardinals
5 green chromis
1 flame...
I just bought a used tank and it came with lots of additives that I won't use. They're up for grabs! All Kent products
64 oz Coral Accel 1/3 bottle
64 oz Essential Elements 1/2 bottle
16 oz Tech M 1/2 bottle
64 oz Phytoplex 1/2 bottle
64 oz Coralvite 3/4 bottle
64 oz Strontium/Molybdemum 1/2...
I just bought a used 150 gal tank and need to get a stand and canopy. The tank measures 72x18x28 but the outside measurements are 72.5 x 18.5. Stand dimensions are all listed as 72x18.
Does this mean that I have a nonstandard 150 because of the extra half inch? or is this common and my tank will...

4" DSB - do you think stirring it up would have done it? I had to move all the rocks around to get the dead lemonpeel out - stirred stuff up quite a bit.
The tank is 9 months old and has (had) 2 clowns, 1 gramma, 1 lemonpeel and various assorted cleaners (approx 40 snails, 5 hermits, 3 peppermints and a very healthy, happy red serpent star) - the newest thing was the lemonpeel, over 6 weeks ago.
Nothing new added - my son did decide to scrape the sides of my tank and stirred up the sand bed????? He says he's done it before but I've never had this kind of a response.
The gramma died overnight but ammonia was down to 0.1 this morning. It's back up to 0.2. I'm going to change the water...
Long story- but someone please help!
Last Saturday I measured water parameters - everything was perfect. We went on vacation on Monday. I left small amounts of flake in cups for my pet sitter to feed on a nightly basis - about 1/3 of what I would normally feed on a daily basis.
We came back on...
I've got a section of my living room that is perfect - it's the intersection of two main outside support beams - where the house was added onto in the past- that has great support. That's the least of my problems at this point! :) I've gotta find a tank, stand, canopy and lights that I can...
I"ve been looking for a 180, but haven't seen much in my area (tri-state NYC area). I'm kinda hoping that a ton of people say that a 150 would be GREAT! or that if I take something off my list it would be GREAT! Although I may feel comfortable with - it'll work, but it's not ideal.
I'm looking for a new, larger tank (used) but am having a hard time finding one in my area. So, before I regroup, any opinions on what the minimum size is that I'll need for my ultimate fish list?
I currently have:
1 lemonpeel
2 false percs
1 royal gramma
I want to add:
1 emperor angel (this...
Thanks! Unfortunately, I have my heart set on an emperor angel to go along with my lemonpeel, two clowns, my gramma and hopefully a few new additions as well. I'm pretty sure I'll need at least a 150 to keep them all happy.
I'm in the market for a used 180 also - tank and stand or tank, stand and canopy. It seems to be a very hard size to find used here in the NJ area. I'd also be interested in anything used or a really cheap source for a tank this size.
no disrespect taken - my entire family is colorblind - but not me!
It's definitely tannish- light brown in color. I'm going to try to take a picture tomorrow, but I think it will just come out looking light dull, dirty rock when in fact it's pretty well covered in red coralline.
My beautiful live wrong has become covered with a tan-colored "fuzz". I can brush it away, but it comes back the next day. It's probably 1/8-1/4 long and almost completely covers my rocks. My sand bed is clean, my glass is clean. I've got coralline growing on everything!- glass, skimmer...
I'm in the planning process for upgrading to a 180 gal tank. The lights have me so confused. I have PC lights on my 35 gallon and I'm pretty happy. My eventual goal is a tank with some large angels, so there won't be much coral in my tank (although I may try a few and hope for the best) so I'm...
