    Terrible day...

I too have lost loved ones, but I have never experienced the death of a child. My first child is on the way - and I worry about things like that every day. I can not imagine the way you feel right now. I can't believe that the medical examiner would be so hurtful and rude. I can tell you from...

    need help picking fish

Seahorses should be in semi-small tanks 30g or less... and should be species only. Meaning only seahorses only go with seahorses of the same species. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

    Applying for work

My current employer is really happy with me and we share almost everything. I've told him that I was looking for a different job that payed more - and I ended up getting a raise and didn't have to learn anything new! So - sometimes it's not such a bad thing to mention it to your current employer.

i am wanting to remove my center brace in my 110 gal

How do you think an aquarium stays together? The black rims don't hold a tank together - they just make the edges more presentable, it does nothing for the strength of the tank. Never seen a rimless glass tank?

    Clams... good or bad?

They are great if they live! They will filter your water a little bit and may stir your sand around a little bit as well.

Well, I just impulse bought a Biocube 14. Need ideas on what to do with it.

how about a non-photosynthetic reef tank? sponges, gorgs, yellow and black sun corals etc etc? How about a shallow water reef tank with mangroves, hermits and other types of algaes and a couple of fish thrown in?

i am wanting to remove my center brace in my 110 gal

+2, I would never remove a center brace. It's there for a reason! plus, you shouldn't even be able to see a shadow at all with the lights on. I've never had a problem with that.

Who has seen the new trailer for the show TANKED, airing on Animal Planet?

Eh, well... It might inspire more people to get into the hobby - I'll try to watch an episode, but I doubt it will be any good.

Questions on PVC and internal overflow.

Then again, I always take the easy way out. The way 2quills did it is the "proper" way that you should probably go with.

Questions on PVC and internal overflow.

Great advice 2quills. Eh, what I've done in the past when coming up on that problem is cementing in a piece of PVC in the slip and then putting a vinyl tube over it and hose clamping it down really tight. That usually works especially if teh line is not under an extreme amount of pressure.

Questions on PVC and internal overflow.

Alright, after reading your post a few times to make sense of it... The FTP fittings should always have teflon tape wrapped around the threads before you screw it in. This kind of lubricates and seals the threads so you don't have any leaks. The best way to do PVC work is to use both a primer...

    help! help! help!

Clownfish eggs are usually laid and stuck the the back of a rock or under an anemone on the rocks. What your tank may be experiencing is flatworms - which can basically EXPLODE and go everywhere in the tank and practically take over. Poor water quality usually causes this, also not having enough...
