    Get rid of the damsel because there more trouble then there worth and get some chromis perhaps, they are active and swim all day. Could try percula clowns. There arn't many active fish you can put in a 50 gal because most active fish need a bigger tank for that reason.

    Clown fish are active fish and are pretty hardy. they arent aggressive like damsels and have great personalities. chromis are also a possibility since they arent aggressive and constantly swim along the top of the tank. :)

    algae keeps growing on my sand. i have 25 small janitor hermit crabs and 5 sand sifting stars but nothing stops the green algae keeps growing. Is there anything that will stop it growing or stir the sand?
