    Kalk ?

Kip last time I check the kalk stirred up to where the water enters about 9-10 from the bottom.I will look tonight. I placed my water entrance up from the bottom because I though it might get cloggged from the kalk paste. Should I move it to the bottm? Sparky

    Kalk ?

Kip The reactor is 30" high with the fresh water entering in at 9" about the kalk sediment and exits at the top. I have a pump that stirs the kalk up every 6 hours for five minutes. The Liter Meter pump was set for 2.5L per day which is about 16.6ml every 9.6 minutes. I have not change the kalk...

    Kalk ?

Kip I had to move the drip tube into the main tank just over the returns becasue I did not have enough flow in its original spot and was getting a film on top ofthe water. Maybe the return was forcing the the kalk mixing over the effective corals? Sparky

    Kalk ?

I was speaking with the lfs about the use of a K-reactor and advise me not to use one, that I sould be using a dual chamber C-reactor. He point out that there would be extra calcium hydroxide and would start to melt the corals, that I should be using CO2 with the Kalk. I have read a lot of...

    Pinpoint PH

From reading other members tank stats I thought my alk and ca were a little low for the acro's that I was adding. I was also concerned about rise in PH to 8.55, and I notice a area of zenia's that were total recessed and some of my gsp was totally closed, very unusual for my tank at night. So...

Thanks, right after I posted I called American Marine because I was calibrating for about a 1/2 hour and still having problems. Pinpoint PH

I have had the monitor for about a month so I figured it was time to calibrate and clean. I spent over 45 minutes trying to adjust and stabilize the readings. The question here is. Should it take this long or am I going about it the wrong way? As instructed I cleaned the probe with fresh water...

    anenome looks deflated

JBone I had two atlantic anenome's and they would deflate to the size of a half dollar. With in a few hours they would open up all the way, doing this several times a week. I think this is normal behavior and no cause for worry. Sparky

I have a Magnificent Anemones that has been doing very well in my tank, had been in the same spot for about 4 months and then decide to find a new place. Over the past 4 weeks it has made its way over to the other end of the tank (up close to the top) where it has been for about two weeks. In...

    cyclopeze feeding

What is the best way to use this and how much would be appropiate. I have been mixing 1/4 tsp (freezed dried) in a small cup of water then pouring it into the tank several times a week. I have been turning off the pumps because it just seems to float on the water surface and would get suck...
