    Bio-Activ Live Sand? LS

I put in a couple bags of this sand when I first started my tank and now there are all these larger chunks of broken shells/coral rising to the top of the sandbed. I didn't think I was getting CC, but that's what the top of my sand looks like at this point. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to...

    Flame Angel & Lemonpeel

Can I put a Flame and Lemonpeel angel together in a 75 gallon? Also - I've heard the Flame is 'hit-or-miss' when it comes to being reef-safe...anyone want to comment on that? What about the lemonpeel - Is it reef-safe?

    Wet/Dry to Sump Conversion

The only space the UV takes up is the pump...which is not much. The UV itself is mounted inside my stand. I have the UV because I already went through an ick WIPEOUT and got it for extra security.

    OK PICS working..WHATS THIS??

It's funny...I found a couple of those a few months back and scraped them off because I didn't know what they were. Then, I got home yesterday after this post came up and there it was...another long stringy line of snail eggs across the front of my tank. WHAT A COINCIDENCE! I guess I'll...

    Wet/Dry to Sump Conversion

Thanks... So how many bio-balls should I take out at a time (not a number...a percentage) and how much time should I let pass before I take more out? Will it be beneficial to add some LS and/or LR (rubble) to the bottom of the sump in the section where the skimmer will be? Will I need a light...

    Wet/Dry to Sump Conversion

I have a Wet/Dry right now and it's REALLY cluttered with all the pumps I have stuffed in there (Return, Skimmer, UV) and I was thinking about just taking out the bio balls and making it a sump. I have a 75 Gallon with about 60 pounds of LS and 50 pounds of LR and I'm slowly adding more of both...

Need help choosing correct overflow box?

Personally, I have the U-Tube one and cannot hear a thing out of it...so if you are basing your decision on noise that might be a way to go. But I have no idea if the other one makes any noise either...

    Sabea Anemone & RBTA?

I've heard you cannot/should not mix different anemones...how about these two? Realistically, if I put the 2 anemones in opposite sides of the tank, assuming they don't DRASTICALLY move the two will probably never get anywhere near eachother...Is there still a danger I don't know of?

    Dead Fish

Just a basic question I was thinking about: When a fish dies, should you remove it from the tank or just let the cleanup crew take care of it? Unfortunately, recently I had an ICK breakout where a couple fish died and some mornings I would wake up and see all my crabs/shrimp/snails tearing a...

    sabea anenome

I was actually about to buy a 'white' sabea anemone from my lfs yesterday that looked EXACTLY like the first pic posted. So you're saying it's unhealthy? They also had a couple that were yellow with blue/purple tips...but definitely not brown. Are the yellow ones sick too?

    pc lights over glass hood

I have the glass on, but I have no idea why...I actually didn't realize this could be a bad thing. I just thought it would be an extra protection/barrier between the water and the lights. :notsure: Should I take off the glass?

    my reef tank

A lfs in S. Florida had a couple HUGE yellow tangs a couple weeks ago. They were at least 5-6 inches each...

    Cleaner Package

ok. When shopping for shrimp, do the bigger ones do better jobs of cleaning? For the money - I always try to get the biggest ones, but then I'm afraid it will get a little stuffy in the tank with all their huge antennas. Should I just go for the smaller ones (1 inch), or get the larger ones (2...

    Cleaner Package

I have a 75 gallon and had an ick wipeout and this time around I want to make sure I have enough cleaners to take care of any problems. I also got a UV Sterilizer for when there is an outbreak or when I get new fish (I realize after reading past posts that people are 50-50 when it comes to UVs...

    Removing Anemones

I have two haitian pink-tipped anemones that I put in my tank soon after it first cycled and I now want to get them out! They take up too much space in the tank, and I just don't think they look good. I've tried to get them off the rock they have attached to, but they have glued themselves on...
