just got done testing, here's the levels the best I can tell them. I need a better testing kit I think. pH - 8.3 ammonia 0.25-0.50 ppm nitrites effectively 0 nitrates 10-20 ppm temp is 84F I work at a pet store that sells primarily dogs, but we've got 9 salt tanks and two show-tanks for salt...

ammonia is less than 0.25 ppm...it's a cheap test kit, that's the best resolution I can get. All our tanks always trace slight ammonia and we're fairly sure it's due to rinsing the test tube with tap water.

All my snails and my brittle star were at the top of the tank this morning, and they still are. Is this an indication of a bad chemical level? Or do they just like to climb? Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are low, and SG is 1.021
