in my tank I have a 4-5 inch V. Lion. he leaves my cleaner shrimp alone as long as i have ghost shrimp swimming around. Even then he just watches the cleaners but bugs the blue leg hermits.

bheron, i asked the same question the other day. there is a guy that replied and said he bought his unit at hd and bought the 10000 k bulb from hamilton and coravue. says its fine. Im gonna do the same. Except im going with the 300 w unit from lowes for like $20 then ill buy the bulbs online.

dburr...can you tell me more specific which unit you bought. How long have you been running them and what do you have under them that is using that light?

I just bought a yellow about 2 weeks ago and its going fair. I never thought it would be so difficult to put something in the dark yet have high current. However they seem to be neat once up and going. P.S. My tiger Goby keeps burying him...anyone know y?
