    Hot Water

I also got the fan to cool down the water, and in emergencies, I got those ice balls that you can put in your drink, that works as ice cubes but doesn't add any extra freshwater into your tank. Getting the temp up to 86 or 87 is pretty ricky as it can literally burn you fish. Usually 84 is the...

    starving Lionfish

Cloudy water sometimes means that there is extra stuff floating in your water, that makes it harder for the fish to breathe through, so they don't really feel like eating very much because it requires extra energy, and breathing. I would try a partial water change and see if that helps, and...

    ant spray and saltwater fish

I was told that even burning strong scented candles by the tank could kill your saltfish. I forgot how sensitive they were and painted the room that the fish were in. They started to look sickly, so I made sure that I put extra fans all around the tank, in my room, and opened all the windows...

    Please Help!

The copper would hurt your snails and crabs because they have an exoskeleton (Spell check!) which keeps the copper, or other meds from going into their bodies. Its just the anemones that can't handle the meds. ~~Megan

    Stopping Ick!

Thanks for the advice! My fish don't have any ick right now, (hopefully never!) I was just trying to make sure it stays that way! ~~Megan

    Stopping Ick!

I was just wondering if this is true or not, or if anyone has heard this, but one of my friends who works at a petstore told me that if you keep you tank at 80 or higher, your fish won't get ick. She told me that ick breeds at 79 or lower, so higher would keep it away. What do you all think...

    Silly Question :)

In my new tank, my fish have plenty of space and live rock instead of the coral and now with the extra holes and rock, my pufferfish had decided to rest on the glass of the tank instead of on all this new wonderful live rock. I don't know why, but I guess whatever she likes the best! ~~Megan

    Need some advice!?!

Sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to this, I have been out of town lately. I had the eclipse 6, and was able to keep a clown and two damsels in it for quite awhile. I was told that it was impossible, but I spent alot of time taking care of it and watching for problems, and if you...

    my ribbon eel won't eat!

I have heard that quite often eels are very picky. A friend of mine had a snowflake that never liked to come out of hiding, so he filled those little nets that you catch fish in with the live food and would put the net in front of the hole it was always in and then it would eat. It just didn't...

    Need some advice!?!

Fishgirl, I did just fine in handling the challange of keeping a small tank, my fish were quite happy. They now live in a larger tank, (because I am going to be gone off and on over the summer and it was too hard for my pet sitter to take care of the little tank.)so you don't have to worry...

    Sump!

OKay, I don't have an under filtration, but i have an ecplise tank and filter system, that has a little tank at the top that water runs through and then goes through the bio wheel and everything, is that something like a sump, just not the undergravel kind? Or am I completely wrong?

    Need some advice!?!

Well I don't really know very much about my tank, just I had it set up for seven months with a domino, yellow damsel, and percula clown, they all got sick and died, and I didn't know what by so I took everything out and washed it really well, pretty much started over, then I refilled the tank...

    Sump!

I am not as adventurous as to build my own sump, so where could I find one at a store, what does it look like, and how does it work, where do you put it? I have a very small tank, that my fish are starting to grow out of, and within the next month I am hoping to have a bigger, more productive...

    cloudy water

Usually when I do a water change, the water is cloudy right afterward, but by the next day is better. Usually it is just stuff that is stirred up from the bottom, or by the equipment having extra bactria and waste the manage. I hope that is all that is wrong with your water. I've also heard...

    Grr

I know how you feel, sometimes everyone has got an idea on how to help out, and other times nobody knows! Sometimes there is a reason that we ask these questions, we don't know the answer, and as it happens, we aren't the only ones!

    Need Info =|

I really have no idea about anything that you have asked, but I didn't want to leave you without any responses! It sounds like a great idea, it could work, it might not. If nobody with real answers responds, just do what you feel like and if it doesn't work out, then sorry that I couldn't...

    Need some advice!?!

I have gotten varying opions on this topic, I was just wondering if maybe I could get a better idea. I have had my tank up for over two months, since I dumped all the water out and started over, before my levels were always perfect, but with my new fish and water I can never get my ammonia and...

    Dead snails or just shock?

To see if they are dead, just pick them up and touch the soft part, if they react in any way, then they will be fine, just need some time to get accustomed to the tank. If they don't move at all, or feel hard instead of fleshy, meaty, more than likely they have died. I hope they are alright...
