Where in the world are the fish lovers?

I live right inbetween Dallas and Ft. Worth Texas. I like it alright, but it is so hot, you can't even go swimming to cool down right now, the water is burning. I honestly liek it more up North where it isn't so humid, but I am the opposite, I love nature, and I would leave the city in a heart...

Hey all you experts (and experts in training!)

Thanks for the help guys! I really want the flame, so that sounds like it will work. I really like the mandarin, and I was wondering how it would do with the blenny. My blenny generally is all over the place, not many fish to keep in him in one spot, and the Mandarin does eat flake, I have...

    hey purplepuffer

Umm, sometimes I go to ***** in Cooper, because my very awesome friend gives me her discount, but I found this really awesome place in Duncanville, called Pet Village, they get some of the not so popular and rarer breeds, and the guy knows like everything! And the live rock is $4.99 a lb...

how old are some of you????

Wow Tobie, you sound like the dad I always wanted, my dad picked his job over my sister and I, tell your kid he is very lucky, even if he doesn't realize it. All you "old guys" I think that it is great that you all have done so well, as I know you have to have in order to get some of those very...

Hey all you experts (and experts in training!)

Alright, so this isn't a matter of life or death, so you can breath, its more of just something that I find is very important. I have a 25 gl tank, with a little less than 20 lbs of LR, (I stacked it really cool, so its doesn't even take up a fourth of the tank, and looks awesome with lots of...

how old are some of you????

:P I hope it works Sammy!! I wish that my parents bought me stuff too! I am 17 and I still live with my parents, but I have that whole, I want to be independent, so the only thing my parents bought me was the tanks and stuff, I buy what goes on the inside! Salt, do your parents buy you...

    live sand?

I don't have live sand, but crushed coral, and I only have a very thin layer, just enough so you don't see the bottom. I like it that way because it looks natual, but doesn't build up as much waste and junk at the bottom and is easier for my scooter blenny to scavenge through and get most of...

    cant even keep snails alive!

I honestly don't think that it is the calcium, I don't have a calcium tester, and most of my animals are always alive (usually they kill each other, not the water) But I have found that with my snails, you have to put them in a certain way, or they will die. I used to just put them on some...

    diadem psuedo & royal gramma

If I was you I wouldn't, because these little guys are very territorial, and the two fish you are talking about usually like the same kind of places in a tank, so I am sure that they will be fighting quite often. I worked in a fs, and my head fish guy always said never to sell the two together...

    bleaching dead coral?

I was told that if you use full strength bleach, then make sure to soak in water for double the time bleached, and if half bleach/water, then soak in water for same amount of time. ~~Megan

    Dallas/Fort Worth fish store....need ASAP

I am really sorry I didn't see this sooner, but I live right smack in between D/ FW. I don't know exactly what FS you are talking about, and what do you say is cheap rock. If you haven't left yet I might be able to help you, but if you have, I am really sorry about not finding this topic in...

    cleaner shrimp & emerald crab

I don't really know about crabs, I don't have any, but I was actually wondering if your two clowns (percula/maroon) got along nicely? I really like both, but everyone has told me they never work out. I would love to know how you did! ~~Megan

    Sweet Memories!

I was always told that fish don't have memories that last more than five mintures. I can definetly bust that theory. I took my puffer out and put her in the QT tank so that I could try and reintroduce some inverts and a percula. She stayed in the Qt for over two weeks. When I put her back...

    Turbo Snails

I haven't had any problems with keeping two or more snails, and not ending up with more than I started with. After a while I could see it happening, but salt fish, and other sea creatures, don't breed as easily in the tank as freshwater fish do. ~~Megan

    Clownfish

Thank you all for the wonderful help! Before any one could reply, the bump was already going down, and now is completely gone! But I think the cleaner shrimp might have helped a little. Thank you all again!

Fair price for a used setup????????????????

If you are just trying to get what ever for the tank that seems fine. But if you were actually trying to sell it for MONEY, I would sell it for more like 300 or 350. My 25 gl was over 250 just the tank, lid and filtration.

    how many?

Cleaner Shrimp help keep your fish clean of parasites, so they are especially important in a reef tank where you can't use med. and is hard to get fish out with all the rock. I have had ick in the past, but while I had a cleaner shrimp, I had no problems with disease. He also kept his little...

    Mean Damselfish.

I had a talbor damsel, I have only seen two, the one I had and the other one in the tank with it. She was gorgous, but brought back white spot,a nd because I keep my temp. up, it pretty much killed everything before I knew what I had (happened like the first two months of having my small tank)...
